On Friday, April 25th, we bring Amy Allibon to Hall to work with each choir in a clinic. A clinic is when a guest conductor/teacher comes in to work with the choir, give ideas, help the choir move forward, and motivate the choir toward excellence. Clinics are customary in the arts- bands, choirs, orchestras, plays, musicals, and individual performers all employ outside help from excellent musicians to help us continue our musical understanding. Clinics are also called Master Classes which may be a term you are more familiar with.
Ms. Allibon comes to us from Texas where her choirs have sung for the Texas Music Educators Association Conference and the National American Choral Directors Association Conference. She is a master teacher and very energetic. I know she will bring great ideas to us, will sit with me at the end of the day and talk about where the program is and where we want to move in the future and give us all the energy we need for the end of the year. She will work with each choir during their regular in-school class time. I am looking forward to her meeting all of us and bringing her musical gifts.
